While a lot of modpacks are different, in general, most modpacks have similar installation methods. Using this guide, you'll be able to set up and install any modpack on your Indifferent Broccoli Minecraft server.
1. In order to install a modpack, you need to find the server specific files. Some modpacks may not have these, so instead you just need to download the latest version of the pack from CurseForge. In this guide, we'll be using All The Mods 9 from CurseForge, which does have server files.
2. Download the server files:
3. Extract the downloaded zip and look for a forge installer. If it is not included, download the correct forge installer for the modpack from the Forge website.
4. Ensure your server is switched to Forge
5. Open the File Manager
6. Navigate to /minecraft/
7. Upload the Forge installer here:
8. Copy the name of the Forge installer. Then add the following line to docker-compose.yml
in the root of the file manager (/
): FORGE_INSTALLER: forgefilename.jar
replacing forgefilename.jar
with your Forge installer's file name. The end result should look exactly like this:
9. Save the Basic Server Settings
10. Once the server is back online with the new version of Forge running, upload the rest of the modpack files to /minecraft/
. It's easier to do this by zipping them first.
*Note: In most cases you will only need the folders in the modpack folder, not the individual txt, sh, and bat files.
11. Once the files are on the server, restart the server.
12. The server will now unpack the mods and load.
