¶ How to Backup Player Data on your Project Zomboid Server
If you want to soft reset or hard reset but keep your characters you've worked so hard to build up, it's possible by first backing up your player data. You can do this in just a few easy steps in our file manager.
Note: If you have a large save, due to the amount of files Project Zomboid servers contain, you may need to use Filezilla to be able to open your save folder.
¶ Steps:
1. Open the File Manager
2. Navigate to /server-data/Saves/Multiplayer/pzserver/
3. Right click players.db and click Download. This file contains all of your player data.
4. Now you have a backup of your player data. You can now perform a hard wipe or soft wipe.
5. If you are keeping your players but did a soft wipe for a new world, you can upload your players.db back to the same location and overwrite the new empty players.db.
