Rosewood is one of the smaller starting locations and can be a viable option for players looking for a more relaxed start to the game. There are a few businesses and houses scattered with a handful of community buildings such as schools, a courthouse, a church, police station, a bank and more. Rosewood as a whole has not a lot of loot, but also has much less zombies than other cities in the game. This article will go through some of the points of interest in Rosewood that will make your playthrough more fun and interesting.
One of the most unique places in Rosewood is the Rosewood Fire Deparment (8148x11730). This location is located on the southwest part of town and not only makes for a great starting location, but also contains some extremely good loot. If you picked traits that help you use an axe, you can find fireman's axes in the storage rooms in this building which can make you a very strong contender against zombies. The location also contains medical supplies which can help early on as you may be getting injured by not being able to outrun zombies or running out of stamina quickly. Overall, if you start in Rosewood this is where you should go first.
The next place you'll need to visit is the police station (8083x11733), directly across the street to the west of the Fire Department. Here you'll be able to find useful loot such as bags, armor, and a ton of weapons. The most important of these being storage such as bags and fannie packs so you can continue to hold on to all of the loot you get before you establish your first base.
Once you've found some essential loot at the Police and Fire Departments, you may be itching to settle down and find a place to call home. Some of the best places to do this in Rosewood is the gated community (8025x11525) to the north of the Police Station. The five houses here are completely fences in and are also massive, providing enough space for multiple players and loot rooms.
Once you have settled down and you're ready to venture forth again, you can find the elementary school (8383x11605) to the east side of town which contains many books that you can use to increase your skills. You can also go for a little swing on the playground.
That's most of Rosewood, it's a small but very complete town. It has most essentials that you would need to get started in Project Zomboid while also not having too high of a zombie population, making it perfect for new players who want to get a grasp on how the game works. This town also gives you a way to get quite overpowered early on by getting essential weapons from the Fire Department and Police Station. Overall if you're not looking for a big challenge and want to get started fast, Rosewood is the best place to start. If you and your group want to get started with Rosewood, consider getting a server from Indifferent Broccoli.
