With Project Zomboid Build 42 being right around the corner and one of the most anticipated major updates, the developers have released an official upcoming features guide that goes over all of the major features and additions that will be in the major update later this year or 2025. In this guide, we'll go over the major highlights that we're most excited to see in Project Zomboid.
With the update of Build 42, modders can take a sigh of release as they won't need to be including any more crafting methods. In Build 42, new crafting machines such as pottery, metal forging, stone working, brewing and metal weapon crafting will be introduced. This gives Project Zomboid more of a traditional survival game feeling, being able to work from stone up to more advanced metal creations.
Listen up animal lovers, Project Zomboid is adding animals in Build 42. This means that you'll be able to hunt down animals for food and track them by their tracks and droppings. Now you'll be able to feel a sense of familiarity and calmness when you're out in the wilderness trying to escape the hordes. This is also the perfect opportunity for a skilled modder to add zombie deer and cows…
Three new towns are being introduced to Knox Country. Time to relax on those map mods and explore some new locations in the vanilla game. These locations will feature new vehicles and plenty of loot for you and your companions to make it worth exploring. In addition to the new towns, numerous smaller map locations will be added.
If you like Project Zomboid roleplay, you're going to like this one. The new update will introduce four new male and female voices that you will be able to choose from at the character creation screen. Depending on what you choose, your character will make differences noises when panting, attacking, or whispering/shouting. This will also give modders a great opportunity to add their own voices that are available at character creation, making roleplaying even more immersive.
Step aside Brita, there's new gear in town. This update will include dozens of new clothing items and containers. You'll be able to roleplay and dress up as almost whoever you would like now, with absolutely no restrictions. This update is just begging you to play vanilla Project Zomboid again.
We all know setting up mods can be a pain. However, with the new update, there will be in integrated mod manager UI to use in game. Similar to the Mod Manager mod, this UI will have plenty of new features making it easy to get mods and all of their dependencies fully installed.
