Valheim moves from $19.99 to $29.99 at 1.0 (regional pricing may differ). Iron Gate's stated reason is the shift from early access to a full release. This is the first price change since the February 2021 launch. Players who have already purchased the game get to keep it for their original early access price
Full crossplay across all platforms is confirmed, expanding the current PC and Xbox crossplay to include PS5 and Switch 2. Cross-save is much narrower and only works between Xbox and PC through the Microsoft Store. See Is Valheim 1.0 Crossplay? for the full breakdown, or How to Enable Crossplay if you just need the setting turned on.
- Valheim gets a full achievement system at 1.0, reportedly more than 50 of them.
- Tracking starts the moment you download 1.0. Progress from before that, even 500 prior Eikthyr kills, doesn't count.
- Using most console commands (like spawn) permanently flags a character and world as ineligible for achievements. A few exceptions exist, like freefly.
- Characters that used cheats before 1.0 carry that flag forward.
- A clean character who picks up a flagged item is temporarily locked out too, until every flagged item is dropped.
- Hammer mode also creates a temporary cheat state for whatever achievements it affects.
Iron Gate's FAQ calls out reduced microstutter when zones load and unload, faster saving, and smaller optimizations.
There is no PTB for 1.0. Everyone gets the update at the same time, including anyone running a live server. Iron Gate has never offered official mod support, and that doesn't change at 1.0, there's no Steam Workshop integration either. Expect BepInEx and individual mods to need time to catch up after launch, same as every past major update. See How to Install Mods and 8 Top Mods once updated versions land. If you'd rather hold your server back on the current version while you wait, How to Change Versions, and How to Update your Server covers the actual patch when you're ready.
Iron Gate have said that bugfixes and quality of life work will continue, but whether new content is coming is "too soon to say."
